Hermès Kelly 28 Sellier HSS Rose Confetti & Gold Epsom Brushed Gold Hardware - 2017

Special Order bags, also referred to as HSS or Horseshoe-Stamp for the small addition aded to the left of the Hermès logo, are a tier above other bags. Appealing because of their individuality, it's possible yours could be the only one made in that specific combination. This 28cm Kelly Epsom Sellier Kelly is a particularly special HSS bag due to its Rose Confetti pink body (one of the purest and most popular shades of pink Hermès has produced) and its Gold sides, handle, and sangles. It's so refreshing to see an exciting modern color paired with one of the house's true classics. A rule of thumb for special order bags is to always use the darker color for the handle, and this bags adds another rule of thumb: always get brushed hardware (which is only available via Special Order). With these two rules checked off, this bag gets two thumbs up!

Sellier – “boxy, structured, rigid” - The Kelly Sellier has visible topstitching along the side seams and no exterior piping like the Retourne. The corners and edges are “sharper” contributing to a more boxy look. Compared the retourne, the craftsmanship of the Sellier is a little more difficult and requires more steps. The seams are topstitched together and bees wax is applied to the edges, which protects the bag from damage. Due to this method of construction, the Sellier appears larger than a retourne in the same size. Out of the two styles, the Sellier is more limited.
